What it is
Click the extension icon, then Scan this page. It collects every link on the active tab and checks each unique HTTP(S) URL, reporting OK, Redirect (with the full hop chain, e.g. 301 → 302 → 200), Broken, or Error. Results can be filtered by All / Broken / Redirects / OK / Errors.
What is inside
- An unpacked Chrome extension (Manifest V3) — popup, service worker, and checker core.
- Polite scanning: at most 5 concurrent checks, 200 ms pacing, 10 s timeout per hop, at most 5 redirect hops, HEAD first with a GET fallback.
- Non-HTTP links are skipped and counted, not checked:
mailto:,tel:,javascript:,data:, same-page anchors, and unparseable hrefs.
Install — read this first
This is an unpacked extension zip (Load unpacked in Chrome). It is not a Chrome Web Store listing — there is no Store page to install from. To install: open chrome://extensions, enable Developer mode, choose Load unpacked, and select the unzipped folder.
Free vs Pro
- Free: 3 scans, counted in your browser only. Reinstalling the extension or clearing its storage resets the count — that is a known limitation of this version, not a bug to hide.
- Pro ($29 one-time, lifetime): unlimited scans. After you redeem here, this page shows you a license key. Paste it into the extension popup to activate Pro on that browser.
About the license key — stated plainly
The key is checked offline by format and checksum only. It is NOT server-verified, and it cannot be revoked if leaked. Keep your key private: anyone with the key can activate Pro. Server-side key verification is a possible future hardening step, not something this version does.
Privacy
The extension reads link URLs only from the tab you actively scan, and only when you click Scan. It fetches each linked URL once to check its status, so target servers see a request from your browser, as with any link checker. No browsing history, page content, or scan results are sent to the seller or any third party. Scan count and Pro flag stay in local storage. No analytics, no accounts, no tracking.
